In the forests of Transylvania, life becomes quieter, more original, more genuine. Here, amidst ancient mountains and clear air, space is created for the essential: to feel yourself again. 

This retreat is an intensive week of psychological self-exploration, combined with mindfulness and nature. Without distraction, without pressure to perform – but with presence, depth, and authenticity.

Content & Schedule

The day begins with a shared breakfast of natural, local ingredients: fresh bread, vegetables from the garden, tea from wild herbs. Afterwards, there is a morning mindfulness exercise or a walk through the woods. We will also make 2 excursions per retreat to visit Dracula's castle and other sights. 

The daily psychological workshop (approx. 2 hours) is dedicated to topics such as:

  • Stress, exhaustion, and self-regulation

  • Emotional clarity and boundaries

  • Mindfulness in relationships

  • Dysfunctional thought patterns and their impact on our well-being

  • Paths to resilience and inner peace

In the afternoon, you have one hour of 1:1 coaching or psychological support, tailored to your personal needs, whether you are seeking orientation, want to understand a pattern, or simply want to dive deeper into yourself.

The rest of the day is yours: walks, silence, pool, writing, reading, or conversations by the fire. In the evening, you can expect a natural dinner (vegetarian also possible), freshly prepared, nourished by simplicity and mindfulness.

Effect & Goal

The combination of psychological depth, mindfulness, and nature has a lasting effect. The nervous system regulates itself, thoughts organize, inner spaces open.
This retreat is a journey to yourself – supported by silence, nature, and professional guidance.

Retreat leadership

I am Mara Schär, certified Corporate Wellness Specialist®, Life & Business Coach based in Basel with a passion for personal development, mindfulness, and sustainable change. 

My training and experience:

  • Studies in communication and media sciences as well as over 15 years of international experience in communication, sales, marketing, and key account management. 

  • Certification as Corporate Wellness Specialist (Los Angeles, 2017) and ongoing studies in psychology. 

  • Founder of Joy Corporate GmbH in Basel – focusing on holistic coaching, workshops, and retreats.

My mission:

I accompany people, especially leaders and stressed professionals – who feel that "business as usual" is no longer enough. Together we create space for mindfulness, inner balance, and sustainable resilience. I combine the latest findings from neuroscience and positive psychology with my intuition and life experience. 

What distinguishes me:

  • Empathy & professional depth: I create a trusting space where topics like stress, dysfunctional thoughts, and burnout prevention can be addressed honestly. 

  • Holistic approach: Body, mind, emotion, and environment are equally important components – especially in retreat settings by the sea, in the mountains, or in nature.

  • Personal experience of change: My work is not theory alone – I know change processes from my own practice, in a patchwork family, professional reorientation, and intercultural life.
